how education works at BEMKE

Most people go through school and life in the passenger seat. They wait for someone — a teacher, parent or boss — to tell them where they are going, when to get off and what to do along the way. They do not choose the direction. They remain passive in their seat, guided from quiz to test all the way to their final school-leaving exam. At Bemke, we reverse this model.

We want the student to take the driver’s seat and gradually assume responsibility for their own development.

The role of our teachers, tutors and mentors is not to lead them by the hand, but to accompany them on the journey — supporting them in making decisions and building agency.
